Planning Your New York Wedding - Making Your Day Perfect

You are engaged; congratulations! Now, get ready for the ride of your life because it is time to plan your big day. However, no need to get stressed out because there are plenty of resources to assist you on making your wedding day a day to remember for the rest of your lives; a great event planner can help.

There is plenty of planning to be done and decisions to be made, but the main thing to focus on is each other and how you want your day to be. It can be easy to get caught up in everyone else's opinions and lose what is important to you and your fiance. Here are a few questions to ask and tips to consider:

First things first - Decide what your budget will be. There is no need to run into debt because you want a beautiful wedding. There are simply elegant weddings that do not put you in the poorhouse. Also, figure out how many guests you may be expecting, when you would like to get married, and then book a reception site.

Your expenses may include the site, food, beverage costs, tips, taxes, administration fees, overtime fees, parking, music, flowers, etc.

Once you have a list of possible locations that are available for your desired wedding date, visit the locations, and find out the following:

Ask yourself if you believe the place is beautiful? Is it what you imagined or how much will it cost to make it beautiful?

Do they have color choices for linens to match your wedding color theme?

Does it have adequate bathroom facilities? Are the stalls big enough to get you and your dress in there? Do they offer special touches, for your guests, like hand creams, hair spray, perfumes, etc.

Is there a coatroom or coat check? Do they have a special area that the bride and groom can change before they leave the reception?

Is there enough room for dancing, D.J. or band, and to move around comfortably?

Where will you have your photos done? Is there a spot there or will you have them done before arriving to the reception site?

How about guest parking? Are there ample spots and is there a fee?

Taste the food offerings. Make sure you love the taste and find out if they offer choices for your guests or have the ability to handle special dietary requests. Do they offer sit down or buffet style?

Music - Do they have a house D.J. or band? If you want to choose your own, is there a hidden fee?

What is there cancellation policy? Do they have a formal payment schedule and what is the deposit requirement?

READ THE CONTRACT CAREFULLY! Make sure there are not hidden fees or disclosures that you do not understand and make sure you have a copy.

What is the alcohol policy? Do you pay extra for a bartender for the day or do they include those costs?

Make sure to meet whoever will be available to troubleshoot and supervise dur women's coats online ing the planning process and on your wedding day. Find out if there services include:

Light any candles before the guests arrive

Be sure the centerpieces, flowers, guest book, and favors are in place before your guests arrive

Coordinate the order of the day. For example, when it is time to toast, have the first dance, cut the cake, etc.
